Using Transits

Learn how to track planetary positions, spot retrogrades, and generate transit reports.

Back to Help

1 Navigate to Transits

The Transits page shows you where every planet is positioned at any given time.

  • Log in and go to your Dashboard
  • Click Transits in the left sidebar menu
  • The transits page opens with a date range filter at the top
Tip: Transits show universal planetary positions — they are the same for everyone at any given moment.

2 Set Your Date Range

Filter the transit data to see planetary positions for the dates you are interested in.

  • Pick a Date From and Date To using the calendar pickers
  • Toggle Daily Only to show one entry per day instead of hourly records
  • Click Search to load the results
  • The table updates with planetary positions for each date in your range
Tip: Use Daily Only for a quick overview. Turn it off when you need to track exact planetary movements within a single day.

3 Read the Transit Table

The transit table displays positions for all major celestial bodies across your selected date range.

  • Each row represents a date and time
  • Columns show the position of each planet from Sun through True Node
  • Positions appear in zodiac format (e.g., ♐ 5°40' means 5 degrees 40 minutes of Sagittarius)
  • Hover over any planet cell to see its speed in degrees per day

4 Understand Retrograde Indicators

When a planet appears to move backward through the zodiac, it is called retrograde. The transits table highlights these periods.

  • Retrograde planets appear in red text with the symbol
  • A planet's speed becomes negative during retrograde — you can see this in the hover tooltip
  • Mercury retrogrades roughly 3–4 times per year, while outer planets (Jupiter through Pluto) retrograde for several months annually
Tip: Retrograde periods are traditionally associated with delays and the need to revisit past matters related to the planet's themes.

5 Generate a Transit Report

For a personalized reading of how current transits affect your birth chart, generate a Transit Pro report.

  • Go to your Charts page and find a natal chart
  • Click the reports icon on the chart's row
  • Select Transit Pro from the available reports
  • The report interprets how current planetary transits interact with your natal planet positions
Tip: Transit reports are a Pro feature. They combine the universal transit positions with your unique birth chart for a personalized interpretation.
