1 What is Horary Astrology?

Horary astrology is one of the oldest branches of astrology. Instead of analyzing a birth chart, it interprets the chart cast for the exact moment a question is asked.

  • A horary chart captures the cosmic snapshot of the moment a question is sincerely asked
  • The chart is cast for the current date, time, and location — not a birth date
  • It can answer specific questions like: "Will I get the job?", "Should I move?", "Where is my lost item?"
  • Each question topic is linked to a specific astrological house (1st through 12th)
Tip: For the best results, ask your question when you genuinely need an answer — the sincerity of the moment matters in horary astrology.

2 Create a Horary Chart

Creating a horary chart is quick — it uses the current time rather than a birth date.

  • Go to your Dashboard and click Charts
  • Click the Add Chart button
  • Select Chart Type: Horary — the date and time automatically set to now
  • Set the location where you are asking the question (country and city)
  • Click Save — your horary chart is calculated instantly
Tip: The exact time matters — create the chart at the moment the question comes to mind, not later.

3 Choose a Question Topic

Each horary question is connected to an astrological house. Selecting the right topic helps the report focus on the relevant house ruler.

  • When creating the chart, a Question Topic dropdown appears
  • Choose from 12 topics: Self, Money, Communication, Home, Children/Love, Health, Relationships, Inheritance, Travel/Legal, Career, Friends, Secrets
  • The selected topic activates a special Quesited Analysis section in the report
  • If you select Health, the entire report uses health-focused interpretations
Tip: You can leave the topic blank for a general horary reading, but selecting one adds a focused analysis section to your report.

4 Link a Person (Optional)

Linking a birth profile to your horary chart unlocks a bonus section that cross-references the horary chart with your natal chart.

  • In the chart form, select a Person from the dropdown — this links their birth data
  • The horary report will include a Personal Natal Context section showing how the horary planets interact with your birth chart
  • Two people asking the same question at the same time will get different personal context based on their birth charts
Tip: If you skip this step, the horary report still works perfectly — the natal context section is simply omitted.

5 Generate the Horary Report

Once your chart is saved, generate the horary report to get your answer.

  • Go to the Charts page and find your horary chart
  • Click the report icon on your chart's row
  • Select Horary Report from the report type dropdown
  • Click Generate — the report appears with all horary sections
  • You can download it as a PDF or text file using the buttons at the top

6 Understanding the Report Sections

The horary report is divided into specialized sections, each revealing a different layer of the answer.

  • Planetary Positions — where each planet sits in the zodiac signs
  • Quesited Analysis — focused analysis of the house ruling your question topic (appears when a topic is selected)
  • Planets in Houses — which life areas the horary planets activate
  • Aspects — the angular relationships between planets, showing applying and separating influences
  • Essential Dignities & Retrograde — planetary strength and retrograde warnings
  • Personal Natal Context — how the horary planets interact with your birth chart (only when a person is linked)
Tip: Pay special attention to applying aspects — they indicate events that are still developing. Separating aspects describe what has already happened.
