Chinese Zodiac: The Rabbit

The Chinese zodiac is a repeating 12-year cycle in which each year is associated with one of twelve animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The animal of your birth year is believed to shape your personality, temperament, and compatibility with others.

The Rabbit is the fourth animal in the cycle. Recent and upcoming years of this sign: 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023, 2035. Those born under this sign are traditionally regarded as gentle, refined, and diplomatic, people who seek harmony and avoid conflict as much as possible.

Rabbit Woman

The woman born in the years of the Rabbit has a natural grace that does not need to be displayed. She moves softly, speaks in a low voice, always dresses with taste without ever overdoing it. She has the ability to make others feel at ease beside her, and so wherever she goes she quickly gathers friends and admirers.

Behind this sweetness, however, hides a soul much more sensitive than it appears. She absorbs the atmospheres around her like a sponge, and a harsh word, an indifferent gesture, a company with negative energy can disturb her for days. That is why she chooses with great care the people she allows close. It is not a matter of selfishness — it is a matter of survival.

In love she seeks tenderness, beauty, a romantic atmosphere. She does not like the violent, the rough, the people who speak loudly and slam doors. She wants a man who knows how to care for her with small, everyday gestures — a flower, a note, a carefully planned evening. If you give her these, she will give you back a devotion few people can offer.

But if she finds herself in a relationship that wounds her, she will hardly make scenes. She will withdraw slowly, almost imperceptibly, until one day you find yourself facing a woman you no longer recognize. The Rabbit knows how to disappear. It is one of the greatest defenses of its sign — the ability to retreat before being truly wounded.

Rabbit Man

The Rabbit man is perhaps the most cultivated type in the entire Chinese zodiac. He loves the arts, literature, fine cuisine, good conversation. You will not find him boasting about his achievements or demanding attention with a raised voice. He lets his taste and his knowledge speak for him, and they usually speak persuasively.

In his work he is diplomatic and skilled in negotiation. He knows how to listen, knows when to yield, knows how to find the middle way when those around him are quarreling. He dislikes conflict and will do everything to avoid it. This, of course, can also become a weakness: when he needs to stand his ground and say a clear no, he will hesitate more than he should.

In love he is romantic and refined, but also demanding in his own discreet way. His woman must have taste, must fit into his world, must understand his silences. If he finds himself with the wrong partner, he will not say so openly. He will continue to be polite, he will fulfill his obligations — but inside he will already have left. And someday he will leave outwardly too, without drama, but for good.
