Chinese Zodiac: The Rooster
The Chinese zodiac is a repeating 12-year cycle in which each year is associated with one of twelve animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. The animal of your birth year is believed to shape your personality, temperament, and compatibility with others.
The Rooster is the tenth animal in the cycle. Recent and upcoming years of this sign: 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029, 2041. Those born under this sign are traditionally regarded as proud, sincere, and perfectionists, people with a strict sense of order and a disposition to say things exactly as they think them.
Rooster Woman
The woman born in the years of the Rooster always takes care of herself. You will find her well-dressed even at the most irrelevant hour of the day, her appearance studied to the last detail. She does not do this out of vanity — she does it out of conviction. She believes that outward order reflects inner discipline, and does not tolerate carelessness in herself or in others.
She is sincere to a degree that can become dangerous for her relationships. She dislikes half-truths, dislikes hiding her opinion to avoid offending someone. She will tell you to your face what she thinks — sometimes you appreciate it, sometimes you are angry with her, but you will never be in doubt about where she stands. This directness is her virtue and her cross.
In love she is extraordinarily selective. She seeks a man who meets her expectations — not necessarily wealthy or famous, but someone with dignity, who dresses well, who behaves properly at the table, who knows certain things. She does not settle easily. She prefers solitude to the wrong company, and for this reason she often remains alone longer than she would wish.
When, however, she marries or forms a serious bond with someone, she becomes the most devoted of partners. Her home is always in impeccable condition, her family cared for down to the last detail, her children raised with principles and good manners. She can sometimes tire others with her strict order — but those who know her well know that beneath this strictness lies a great heart that sincerely loves those it has chosen to love.
Rooster Man
The Rooster man has a particular relationship with his mirror. He is not vain in a cheap way — he is proud, and his pride shows in his impeccable appearance, in his correct speech, in his studied gesture. He wants others to notice him, but to notice him with esteem, not with ridicule. Dignity, for him, is more precious than anything else.
In his work he is a perfectionist and well-organized. He does not leave things pending, does not forget obligations, does not miss appointments. Others sometimes find him exhausting because he demands the same precision from them — but when a serious task must be delivered on time and flawlessly, the Rooster is the most reliable person one can find.
In love he is faithful but demanding. His woman must honor his image — she must be well-groomed, dignified, able to accompany him anywhere without embarrassing him. He loves truly, but expresses his love in a practical way: he takes care of everything, provides for his family, solves problems before they become crises. He will not tell you many sweet words — but when you truly need him, he will be there.
